Karen Booraem purchased the Interiors by Decorating Den franchise for parts of Cape Cod in 1998 upon moving from Vermont. She is now in her 12th year as one of Cape Cod’s established interior designers.
Karen has received a number of awards including Lifetime member of Century Society, President’s Club, and Positive Thinker Award. In 2005 Karen won 1st runner up for Decorator of the Year, 1st place for her living room entry and 3rd place for her kitchen entry at the annual Interiors by Decorating Den conference. In 2009 Karen again took 1st place for her Living Room entry and 2nd place for family room category. These awards are from international contests, judged by editors of leading home furnishings magazines including Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful and House and Gardens.
She has been active in the Harwich Chamber of Commerce eight years including 2nd vice president for two years.
She has been featured in an article in the Cape Cod magazine “Inside Cape Cod” and has an article in the spring issue of “Home Remodeling Cape Cod and The Islands” magazine on “The Psychology of Color.”
As a one person shop Karen works with each client from beginning to completion helping clients achieve the perfect Cape environment.
Prior to moving to Cape Cod, Karen held various retail positions including her favorite as owner of a Children’s store in Rutland, Vermont for 8 years.
Having been involved in retailing for many years, Karen believes that, equally important to the decorating aspect of this business, is listening and understanding each customer’s goals and providing superior and consistent customer service. Karen prides herself on her ability and ease of working personally with each client so together they create a home that is reflective of their lifestyle.
